Thame, Khumjung and Khunde are few of the most famous and important Buddhist Monastery in Khumbu region.
Gokyo Ri, Fifth Lake and Renjo La (17580ft.) will open up and provide us 360-degree's panoramic views of Cho Oyu (27000ft.), Everest (29028ft.), Nuptse (25843ft.), Lhotse (27932ft.), Makalu (27825ft.), Pumori (23514ft), and countless other spectacular Himalayan peaks.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Flying to Lukla and trek to Namche Bazaar for first two days is the same route that goes to Everest Base Camp. Visiting Namche, Khumjung and Khunde villages including the monasteries in each village are interesting. The trail after Namche goes to the less crowded trekking route to Khumjung village which is considered the home of Sherpas who have climbed Mount Everest many times. Gokyo valley has six crystal clear lakes and we will see five of them. It also has Nepal's longest Ngozumba glacier which comes all the way from Cho Oyu which is sixth world highest mountain. Sunrise view of whole Everest ranges (including Mount Everest, Lhotse and Makalu) from Gokyo Ri is amazing. Top of the Renjo La has different but amazing view of Everest-Lhotse-Nuptse mountain range. Thame has very old monastery. Walking from Thame to Mende and Mendi to Kyajo Ri Peak Base Camp is amazing as none of the trekkers walk in this route except climbers who would like to climb Kyajo Ri Peak (6200m).
